Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina BrownleeНамуна
Day 15: Greater Love
Read John 15
Jesus sets the Ultimate Example of Love, telling us that the Greatest Love is to lay down one’s life for friends. This kind of Sacrificial Love isn’t easy, especially when the world doesn’t always appreciate it. Jesus knew this firsthand. He experienced rejection and hatred, and He warned His disciples they would face the same.
But Jesus’ Love wasn’t conditional—it wasn’t based on how others treated Him. He loved the marginalized, healed the sick, and reached out to those society rejected. He loved knowing full well many would never love Him back, and some would even hate Him for it. That’s the kind of Love we’re called to.
As followers of Christ, our mission is to love like He did, even when it’s hard. The world around us may reject the message of the Gospel, but we’re still called to love, serve, and share Jesus with others. It’s not easy, but when we remain connected to Jesus, His Love empowers us to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep shining His Light.
Reflection Questions:
- Who in your life is hard to love? How can you love them like Jesus did, sacrificially and unconditionally?
- How can you reflect Jesus’ Love to others this week, especially in situations where you face rejection or misunderstanding?
