Reading With the People of God #9 - FaithfulnessНамуна
Memorization Challenge:
13 And now behold the king whom you have chosen, for whom you have asked; behold, the Lord has set a king over you. 14 If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well.- Samuel 12:13-14
Primer:
Today’s readings center on God's faithfulness in confronting false gods and offering healing. In 1 Samuel, the Ark of God demonstrates the power of the true God over idols. In the Gospel, Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethesda, revealing His faithful care for the broken. Both passages remind us that God’s faithfulness brings healing and restoration, confronting the false gods in our lives with the truth of His power.
Question to reflect on: How can you recognize areas of your life where false idols might be replacing God's faithfulness, and how can you invite His healing presence into those areas?
