A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

Jesus concluded His message on what it means to be a disciple by acknowledging the intensity of being one of His disciples, and the possibility of the disciple losing his/her “saltiness.” Being a disciple of Christ is demanding, but worth it. Salt without flavor is useless, and similarly, a believer who forgets his/her purpose is completely worthless, fit for “the manure pile” (v. 35). With the attributes of Christ, though, we are incredibly valuable, and the agency by which more disciples can be made (Matt. 28:19).
