A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

The major theme we have focused on in Luke 13 is repentance. We often think of repentance in the context of personal, spiritual salvation. This is an important aspect, but there is also so much more. Repentance is choosing to accept a better way of living. This is not just about saying the right things, it is a total transformation of how we see the world. This is why those craving something different, some form of hope, often see it first. Like those who disagreed with Jesus regarding the Sabbath, some people will not understand or accept this. Ultimately, it is to choose to live in a different kingdom and inhabit a different narrative.
Lord Jesus, give us a heart of repentance that continually turns back to you. As we sit in this gospel, may we inhabit the narrative in such a way that we become more like you. Amen.
