A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

Mary’s song of praise becomes a setup for Luke’s gospel. Her own story becomes the context for a window into God’s work of salvation in history. Mary clearly realizes that she is important in the story of Israel. Whilst Zechariah forgets about Abraham's founding story for Israel, Mary remembers God’s promise to Abraham. She doesn’t know exactly how things are going to play out, but she believes in what God has done and so trusts what God will do in her day.
This is why understanding the story of the Bible is so important: so that we can insert ourselves into it!
