We see the tragedy of martyrdom at the start of this chapter with the death of James, the brother of John. The capturing of Peter was a political move done by Herod to please the Pharisees. Instead of mourning the loss of Peter, the church decided to pray for him constantly, as we see in verse 5.
What would a life of consistent prayer do? If we were to bring God our wants and needs, would we see the miraculous?
