God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)

DAY 34 OF 50

Hebrews (2) – Day 4

When you go through something difficult, do you find yourself asking, “What did I do to deserve this?” or “Why is God punishing me?” Would you find it hard to believe that God may be allowing these things because He loves you?

The author of Hebrews tells us that we are to endure hardship as discipline from a loving father. It is important to make a distinction between discipline and punishment. The purpose of discipline is never to hurt, harm, or shame. Instead, discipline is intended to help us grow and mature. Just as a loving father does not abuse his children, our All-Loving God is working all things together for our good.

Hardship is one of the many vehicles He uses to conform us to the Likeness of Christ. Every struggle we face is an opportunity to become more like Jesus.
