Be FreeНамуна
Freed from the Slavery of Sin, the Law, and Ourselves
Christ has set us free from the slavery of sin, the Law, and even from ourselves. Yet, to fully live in this freedom, we must recognize the "rival loves" that try to take Christ’s place in our hearts. Rival loves are those desires, passions, and distractions that compete for our attention and pull us away from placing Christ above all else.
Jesus calls us to a deep, exclusive relationship with Him. Just as He loved us and freed us completely, He desires that we live in freedom by continually returning to His love. However, the distractions of this world, daily worries, and even good things can become rival loves if they take Christ's place in our lives.
One day, the entire universe will acknowledge that Christ is above all. May we live now in such a way that He has the first place in our lives, free from rival loves.
To be truly free means surrendering everything to Christ, leaving behind anything that distracts or derails us. When He is at the center of our lives, we find freedom to live fully, serving Him out of love, not obligation.
Be free—free from rival loves, free to love and serve Christ with all your heart.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I recognize that I often allow rival loves and distractions to take the place that belongs to You in my heart. Help me to identify and remove anything that keeps me from fully living for You. I want to be free to love You above all else. Free me from anything that pulls me away from Your love, whether worries, desires, or distractions. May my life reflect the freedom You have given me, and may Your love be at the center of everything I do. Amen.
