Prayer 101Намуна
Praying His will.
Matthew 6:9-10 says, Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
As we look to pray God’s will, it helps enlarge our prayers beyond ourselves and look at what matters to God. The best way to do this is by looking at what is in God’s Word and then praying for it. There are many great verses, promises, and prayers in the Bible that we can incorporate into our own prayers. In the Word, we find thousands of promises to pray for, specific topics we are instructed to pray about, verses that we can pray to see come to pass in our lives, and prayers that we can personalize. Paul’s prayers are powerful prayers we can personalize for ourselves and others. Philippians 1:9-11, Ephesians 1:16-20, and Ephesians 3:16-21 are great prayers that will bring growth to us. As we pray God’s Word, we pray for what matters to God. Here are a few examples of things we are told to pray (Matthew 9:38; Psalm 122:6-7; Matthew 10:8), and some examples of Bible prayers here (Philippians. 1:9-11; Ephesians 1:16-20; Ephesians. 3:16-21), as well as many more throughout the Bible.
Praying scripture is one of the most powerful ways to pray. When we stand on scriptures as we pray, we know that we are praying according to God’s will and based on His promises for us (1 John 5:14). May these following scriptures help you as you pray today and guide you when our seven days come to a close.
