Navigating Election Season With Biblical WisdomНамуна
We live in a divided culture, and nowhere is that more evident than when it comes to discussing politics.
This is NOT a plan focused on a political party.
This is about you...and God...and His Word.
If we are going to be light in a dark world, then we need to let Scripture guide our attitudes, conversations, and actions.
This plan is designed to help you focus on five passages that will help you navigate election season.
Today's Passage is Isaiah 40.
Most of the time, when people look at Isaiah 40, they only focus on the last verse. (And it's a good one!)
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength;
they will mount up with wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
But there is so much in the 30 verses prior to this one that reminds us of a very important truth:
God is SOVEREIGN.
Verse 8 reminds us that God's Word stands forever.
Verse 9 reminds us that we don't need to be afraid.
Verse 17 reminds us that all the nations are nothing compared to Him.
Verse 22 reminds us that God sits on the ultimate throne!
Verse 28 reminds us that God is everlasting.
Yes! God is not surprised by any of this. The candidates don't surprise Him. The circumstances don't surprise Him. And the election's results don't surprise Him.
He knows all and reigns over all. And He is good.
God's sovereignty is the foundation for our ability to navigate this divisive season with grace, truth, kindness, and an ever-increasing confidence in God.
