What’s a Big Mountain That Faces Everyone Who Follows Jesus?
There’s a mountain in the way of a really important mission. What if you opened your Bible to learn from God’s Word and this was your daily reading:
Wacpoico q’vor hrahrr bojpk gpojopj.
Could you understand that? Of course not! They’re just random letters! Here’s what that has to do with our really important mission: Not everyone has the Bible available to learn from in their own language.
The Bible still needs to be translated into around 4,000 languages that are currently spoken in the world. Some of those languages have a little bit of the Bible, and some of them have none of the Bible. That’s way, way too many people who don’t have a Bible in their own language to learn from.
But Bible translation groups like illumiNations are already hard at work to move this mountain out of the way! Watch this video to see how you can play a part in moving this mountain, too.
It’s a big job to translate the Bible into the thousands of languages that are left. But everyone—including kids—can make a difference. Kids can pray. Kids can even be generous with their money to support Bible translation groups. And kids can definitely help get the good news of God’s love to everyone, everywhere!
But what about making a difference closer to home? How can you move mountains in your family, your neighborhood, or your school? Come back for Day 3 of this Bible Plan. Because that’s exactly what you’ll find out!
Remember: Every day of this Bible Plan, you get to read Matthew 17:20. There’s a surprise coming that goes along with the NLT version of this Bible verse! (Don’t peek! Seriously, what’s the fun in peeking?)
Pray: God, thank You for the truth you teach me through the Bible. Help me treasure it, learn from it daily, and do what I can to share Your Word with everyone, everywhere, in a way their hearts and minds can best understand. In Jesus’ name, amen.
