Daily Bible Reading— September 2024, God’s Guiding Word: WisdomНамуна

September 16
Introduction
Psalm 119:17–32: In today’s reading, the psalmist acknowledges that God’s instructions are good advisers and a source of pleasure, so he seeks a greater understanding of God’s commands.
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 119:27
Help me to understand your laws, and I will meditate on your wonderful teachings.
Reflect
Reread verses 25–29. For what does the psalmist pray? What does the psalmist promise (verses 30–32)? What is the connection between meditation (or focused attention), understanding, and obedience? In what ways do you seek to understand God’s teachings?
Pray
Holy God, I seek to obey your teachings and learn the wonderful truths in your law. Your judgments are fair and just. Direct my thoughts and actions this day so that all I do and say is in accord with your will. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Psalm 119:33–48: The psalmist prays for understanding.
