God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 1 )

DAY 9 OF 55

Acts: Week 2 – Day 4

The Philippian jailer was probably the last person Paul and Silas expected to believe in Jesus, for several reasons. Philippi was pretty far from Israel, so he may not have heard of that weird Jew named Jesus who caused a riot and got himself crucified. A jailer was likely a big tough guy who didn’t need a savior, and he was the enemy holding Paul and Silas in jail.

The jailer didn’t choose to give his heart to Jesus because Paul was such a persuasive speaker. By contrast, Paul and Silas were simply being faithful. It was the mighty power of God that convinced the jailer of the truth.

If you haven’t shared Jesus with someone because you are sure they would never believe, tell God you’re available for whatever he has in mind, and then watch his power at work.
