Sharing Your FaithНамуна

You have just spent a summer living your life, followed by the great Commandment. Loving God and loving others. Matthew 22:36-40 states, "Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Out of the great commandment flows the great commission. The great commission is stated here: "Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

We can see here every disciple of Jesus is called to make disciples and teach them what Jesus has taught us. We can look into his teaching on the Sermon on the Mount and his last command and teaching, which was, "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:34-35)

We can be disciples by loving and teaching these new disciples the love of God. Challenge yourself this week to ask three people you don't know to pray for them and to share the gospel with them or invite them to Church, whether at school, the grocery store, etc. Make sure it is in a safe public environment!

Prayer:

Father, take me deeper into your love and gospel so I can take others into it. I ask that you strengthen me with the might to share your word and love with others, and I would have confidence that the word of God supports me in doing this. I pray you will equip and empower me to share your message with others who need it. In Jesus name, Amen!
