Seven Biblical Principles on Finances

DAY 7 OF 8

Principle #6 Supporting God’s work

Sixth on the list of Biblical principles on finances is supporting God’s work. Well, I would like you to treat this as separate from tithing because this one has more to do with ministry partnerships and offerings. Did you know that as a believer, you must be a constant giver in God’s house? When it comes to offering, especially on Sunday, Paul recommended that we should plan for it. He said it in 1 Corinthians 16:2 that,

[2] “On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.” – 1 Corinthians 16:2 (NKJV)

So, from this, it is necessary to plan what you ought to give in the house of God every week. In fact, when you do that, it’ll bring order to your area of self-finance management and make you more disciplined. As simple as this is, many don’t obey this Word. There are more complainers in God’s house when it comes to giving because something is missing in their hearts.

God is more interested in your heart than your money. Why? Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (see Matthew 6:21). That means God wants you to love Him deeply in your heart, and when you do that, giving to support His work won’t be a problem.

Remember that the gospel, although free, is costly to reach out to people. There are paywalls to every high impact, and your generosity in God’s house will help Christian organisations do the work of the Lord more easily. Support God’s work, and you won’t lack.

About this Plan

Seven Biblical Principles on Finances

Money is an essential part of our lives. Without it, many things can’t be done, and visions get stunted because of a lack of adequate resources to finance them. And God knows this. That is why He wants us to be prosperous, and He has provided us with biblical principles to guide us towards financial prosperity so we can have enough for ourselves and others.
