100 Days of HopeНамуна
Perseverance
Speaking these words, Paul was sitting in a Roman prison facing a capital charge of insurrection. The odds were highly against him, and he knew that his time on earth was close to an end. Paul spoke with courage in order to encourage Timothy. In his last words, the apostle shed a light on Christ and the rewarding promise he had in Him.
Working with the poor, we are dealing with people whose lives are uncertain about tomorrow. These are the people we meet every day, men and women who are desperate, hungry and facing all sorts of challenges as a result of poverty. While serving them, let’s keep reminding ourselves that we need to fight a good fight until the end because there is a crown that our Lord Jesus Christ reserves for us as we serve Him with integrity and for His glory.
Prayer: Father, help us to persevere, to “fight the good fight,” so that we can love those around us, be advocates for those in need, and bring about your Kingdom.
