100 Days of Hope

DAY 25 OF 100

Days In The Desert

As God’s chosen people walked in the desert, they felt forgotten. They had witnessed His majesty in overcoming the pharaoh of Egypt, seen His strength in unleashing the plagues, and beheld His power as he parted the Red Sea. But in the desert, in the day-in and day-out drudgery, they often asked, “Where is God now?”

Sometimes in the middle of the mundane—between the spaces of work, routine, family—we experience our own “desert.” We struggle to hear His call, to know He is near, and to experience His love. We want to see the Red Sea parted. We want the Nile to bleed red. We want a miracle.

But it’s often in these times of silence that the greatest miracles are taking place: “During the 40 years… [their] clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on [their] feet.” Not only had the Lord not forgotten them, but He cared enough about his chosen people to make sure their footwear was in peak condition: The Lord was intimately aware of and taking care of their spiritual and physical needs!

Know that He walks with you in the desert. More than that, your heavenly Father cares for you, He knows your needs, and He will provide abundantly for you. Reflect on His mercy today.

Prayer: Father, you love us extravagantly; open our eyes to your daily provision. Thank you that you walk with us.
