Cheerfulness

A cheerful heart has a continual feast.

As Christians, we have so many reasons to be cheerful: God is in His heaven; He remains firmly in control; He loves us; and through His Son He has offered us a path to eternal life. Despite these blessings, all of us will occasionally fall victim to the inevitable frustrations of everyday life. When we do, we should pause, take a deep breath, and remember how richly we’ve been blessed.

Cheerfulness is a gift that we give to others and to ourselves. The joy we give to others is reciprocal: whatever we give away is returned to us, oftentimes in greater measure. So make this promise to yourself and keep it: be a cheerful ambassador for Christ. He deserves no less, and neither, for that matter, do you.

The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him.
