I Want God: How to Love Him With Your Whole Heart and Revive Your SoulНамуна
Day 5: In Passionate Pursuit
My friends, we are still here. We are still on the journey. We are still needy and grasping and desperate for more of God than we even know. We are still trudging through bad days and soaring through good ones. We still have hope to be better than we were yesterday and the promise of grace if we are not. We still have the ability to influence. We still have the capacity to dream. We can still get this thing right, still say I’m sorry, still forgive, still pursue, still believe, still remember.
And until the day we go to swim in that big ocean—until we are “like Him” and “see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2)—we can still love God more than we ever have and give Him more than we’ve ever given and have the most amazing life of more than we’ve ever known.
So come with me. Pursue God in a full-on sprint, the kind where arms pump and legs race and the end is the good kind of exhausting.
Don’t fear what others may think or say.
Have integrity, even when it costs you something.
Dive in, sometimes blindly. Do the hard thing without knowledge of how it will play out. Say 'no' to things your freedom allows but at the end of the day won’t make you holier.
Stop wasting time trying to fix yourself when that introspection costs you prolonged time out in the field, pointing people to God. You know enough. Now just go.
Lay things down and simply walk away. Offer praise in moments of pain. Live the Word, once and for all.
Endure, not in the quick-fix way the world promotes, but in the kind of raw, rogue Old Testament way that made regular people heroes.
Know that nothing works but God and quit wasting time pretending it does.
Realize that what you grasp the tightest is what you most need to release and that God honors doing hard things first rather than as last resorts.
Chase only the accomplishment of loving Him more than anything else.
Reflect:
How can I actively pursue God in a full-on sprint, embracing the challenges and living out faith in every aspect of my life?
Prayer: Lord, thank You that I am not alone in this journey; that You are with me, leading and guiding me, healing and strengthening for the road ahead. To You be the glory!
