Overcoming: Devotions from Time of GraceНамуна
LIVING WITH LONELINESS
We were designed and built for companionship. God made us to be social creatures who would find fulfillment in our relationships with one another and especially with him. Human sin, though, breaks people apart, and it breaks us apart from God too.
When Satan is speaking through us, the words come out like this: "I don't need you. I'm happier on my own." There is a sick thrill to saying this to one another, and people shout it at God all the time. But there is a great sadness in being alone. And the worst kind of loneliness is when you feel alone while being surrounded by people, when none of them seem to care for you.
By sending his Son to the earth, actually to live on the earth as one of us, God reconnected himself with the human race, and that means also with you! How can his wonderful gifts help you cope with loneliness in your life? Let’s talk . . .
