God and Me: Devotions from Time of Grace

DAY 30 OF 31

God and My Resurrection

The odds of you winning a multimillion-dollar jackpot in the lottery are terribly small. It's 195,000,000 to 1 that you have wasted your money.

But every believer in Christ will be a winner on the great day of judgment. Luck, odds, and gaming skill have nothing to do with it. Your winning ticket was purchased for you as all your debts were paid, paid in full, when the Son of God suffered, died, was buried, and rose again. "And I--in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness" (Psalm 17:15).

You can handle any adversity knowing that you win in the end. You can endure financial, physical, and emotional hardships cheerfully knowing that the game will be reset and you will start over in heaven. Your body will be restored to the perfection God originally intended. The entire universe will be re-created without any evil, sickness, or death.

Waiting for you is resurrected human #1, the first installment of the great resurrection, your Savior Jesus. You will be satisfied to see his likeness, satisfied indeed, for you shall see him face–to-face, never again to die.
