Peace in the Waiting

DAY 5 OF 5

Free to Love

We were created to be disciples of Christ, sharing God’s love with others through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our hearts. Jesus commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). When we take salvation personally, we’re living out our global purpose as commissioned by God Himself. It’s a call that demands our time, our resources, and our unique personalities. Yet God is the one in control, not us. And just as we’re told in the Great Commission in Matthew 28, the Lord is with us.

In seeking first God and His will for those you love, you edify your friends, yourself, and the kingdom. Child of God and fellow believer, how deeply the King of the universe loves your friends and family. In His good design, He ordained from the beginning of time their very existence. He loves the people you love more than you can even imagine. He knows what they need and when they need it. Keep praying, keep interceding, and keep weeping with total trust in Him, knowing that their salvation is not for you to decide or obtain.

Be free to love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. And then be free to love the people around you without the burden of their eternities on your shoulders. Be free and know that the God of the universe is in control, and He is writing a redemptive story. He desires deeply that you would have peace in your waiting, as you walk the road of loving people who don’t love God.

Father thank you for ____. Please rescue Your child, who is precious to You. Thank You that You are working. That You love ____ dearly. May ____ know the Truth and may (his/her) name be written in the Book of Life. Lord, I wait with deep and abiding hope for my loved one’s salvation. I cry out to You desperately. Please comfort me, encourage me, and uplift me as I wait. But, Lord, I trust You. I submit and release my will to You, Most High God. Your will be done. In the mighty, matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

About this Plan

Peace in the Waiting

When you know Jesus intimately, it’s only natural to long for your loved ones to know Him too. Often with this waiting comes weariness, sometimes even a sense of hopelessness. This encouraging devotional guides us in prayerful lament over those who don’t know Jesus as it reminds us that a loved one’s salvation is ultimately in God’s hands.
