(Be) Transformed

DAY 2 OF 7

We want to be people who are equipped to press back against the worldly things that can harm us and distract us from God and the calling He has placed on our lives. Everything we encounter, hear, see, and experience must be measured against the perfect truth that comes from God alone.

Transformation by the Holy Spirit is about getting the world out of us and putting Heaven within us. Though we should aim to abandon anything in us that is “of the world,” for now, we still live in the world, which can make living boldly as God intended challenging and even frustrating.

If you wanted to land in one place in the Bible to seek wisdom for what a life transformed by and focused on Jesus should look like, Romans 12 is probably it.

Take a little extra time with today’s scripture reading, which takes us through the whole passage of Romans 12. As you read, take note of any verses or sections that nudge you in an area where you need transformation or to be more intentional. Highlight the verses or write them out in your journal.

Maybe this passage of scripture encourages you or maybe you find it overwhelming or intimidating, keeping a mental checklist of how you are doing in each of the areas Paul is writing about.

Let’s be honest: living out what is described in Romans 12 requires strength and boldness. As you journey through this devotional, we believe God wants to speak to you and increase your strength and boldness. God wants to begin a work of transformation in all of our lives, not only so we can seek Him more intentionally, but so we can help others do the same.
