Jesus Our Savior: A DaySpring Journey Through Holy WeekНамуна
Jesus the Lamb of God
Today is Easter Sunday!
Today, we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. He was fully man and fully God—and completely Perfect and without sin. Yet He suffered and died to pay the price for our sins, so we can be seen as blameless in the eyes of God.
Because Jesus paid for our sins with His Life and then came back to life three days later, we know we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Our sins have been erased and forgotten, thanks to Him!
After taking the last week to get to know Jesus on a deeper level, His Sacrifice means even more than before. We pray that focusing on Jesus every day has made you fall deeper in love with Him.
In the Old Testament, centuries before Jesus came to Earth, the people who followed God were required to sacrifice animals as a symbolic way to pay for their sins. Frequently, the sacrifice would be a lamb (and, ideally, the most perfect one they could find). This is why Jesus is called the Lamb of God.
While He’s also our Good Shepherd, He took the place of an animal sacrifice or our sacrifice as the Lamb of God. He’s both Shepherd and Lamb, Beginning and End, Friend and Fierce Protector, Creator of all, and Comforter of our hearts. Jesus is Everything, and today we celebrate Him!
Thank you for joining us on this DaySpring Holy Week journey to learn more about Jesus and His Love for us! Happy Easter!
