Identification - Who Am I?Намуна
The Blessing Within Your Identity in Christ.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." - Ephesians 1:3 (NIV)
We have explored the profound relationship we have with God as members of His Family through Jesus’ Sacrifice. We have also looked at the transformation of the Believer into his New Identity in this 3-day series. As we conclude today, let us delve into the bountiful blessing embedded in our Identity in Christ.
Have you observed this simple yet peculiar thing about identity cards? It always bears the photo of the headshot of the owner of the card alongside their information. The head is sufficient as the key feature to allow the bearer access.
In the secular landscape, individuals who identify with a specific nation or align with particular organizations often enjoy distinct privileges and rights. How much more the Believer!
God’s blessings are freely available to everyone who believes. These blessings do not have a prerequisite and are all located in Christ. Because Christ is the Head of the Church, He is the Head and the Identity of the Believer. He has granted you access to all the fullness of God. "And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power]." -Colossians 2:10 (AMPC)
With Jesus being the Author of our Salvation, God has received us as His sons - with Jesus leading the way as the Head of the Church. "For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him". -Romans 8:29 (TPT)
This means that as a Believer, you are just like Him here and now. You share in His Likeness. This is why the Bible also says in Ephesians 2:6 that we are seated with Him! This is something worth getting excited about! Being co-seated as one with Him means we are in a place of Authority together with Him. The head is never separated from the body so we are always in union with Christ.
God does not see your flaws or limitations when He looks at you, He sees Jesus, your Identity! While humanity fell in Adam, God came to redeem us all through Jesus. His Sacrifice completed the requirement to free us from the tyranny of the enemy. His Finished Work has given you the victory over sin and death.
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! - Romans 5:17 (NIV)
The Believer is no longer known according to the flesh in his humanity by Adam. He is not limited or deficient. He has been made complete in Him. The Believer is now known for his Identity in Christ with countless blessings following!
- You have been accepted into perfect union with Christ
- We have the complete forgiveness of sins because of His Blood - so God does not hold anything against you! You have been liberated to walk in your Identity in Christ.
- You have total victory in every sphere of your life because Jesus has won the victory for you!
