God's Redemption Story (1 Kings - Ezra)Намуна

Rehaboam & Jeroboam - 3/5
Ahijah, a prophet from Shiloh, told Jeroboam that God would give him the kingdom of Israel after Solomon died. So when the people hated Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, and asked Jeroboam to be their king, he knew that God was in control. But he feared that if the people followed God’s instructions to worship Him in Jerusalem, they would also return to Rehoboam their king while they were in town. Instead of trusting God’s plan, Jeroboam led the people away from both Rehoboam and God by giving the people false idols to worship.
Like Jeroboam, we often doubt God’s power to carry out His promises. We make plans to preserve the things we think are important, but we risk our relationship with the God who loves us. If your life is looking out of control and risky right now, thank Jesus for making relationship with God possible and ask Him to display His power in your life.
