Being A Woman Of The Word

DAY 4 OF 15

Standing Up For Truth

We live in a time where Christians need to be told to live like Christ and to stand up for the Bible. What’s even crazier is that people actually fight against this notion, coming up with excuses for their sin as though it isn’t clear in Scripture. There seems to be different definitions as to what living like Christ means, but as we examine the Word and really understand Jesus’s life, we see how He boldly called people out in their sin, which is why He was so persecuted.

But what does living like Christ actually look like? We see in John 15 that Jesus warns us about following Him. Standing up for Truth will always offend someone, but the most loving thing we can do as a follower of Christ is to preach the Gospel. The church has put so much effort into inventing a new form of “following Christ” that does not require imitating Him. We teach that even though Jesus was rejected by the world, we should continue to pursue popularity. We teach that although Jesus calls us to die to our sin, we outright praise people for openly living in sin.

Christians, standing up for the Truths in Scripture will always bring persecution because Truth is offensive. Our witness to the Gospel will trigger something deep inside of people. It will have the ring of truth in their hearts, though it may be temporarily suppressed in unrighteousness. 1 Peter 4:12-13 says, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings…” We need to continually die to our sin and constantly rejoice in the promises we have in the Gospel; living as Christ lived will give us the courage to face any trial that comes our way.

About this Plan

Being A Woman Of The Word

Our mission is to help lead women into transformational wholeness by sharing sound Gospel-centered, theological content from a Reformed perspective. Equipping women to confront deeper issues through seeking God, His Word and learning to fully surrender our individual lives to His Will. To know our identity in God, we must first come to know God, and we do that through His Word.
