Emotional Security through Intimacy with God

True security is found in an emotionally intimate relationship with God.

When I began to listen to God's voice, and He said to me for the first time, "David, I am proud of you," it created a sense of security in me that made all my attempts to prove my worth unnecessary.

Paul tells the Corinthians that it is as messengers of God, in Christ and before God, that we speak (2 Corinthians 2:17).

Do you sometimes feel like God is watching you as an examiner during an exam?

If we conduct our ministry fearing how God will evaluate our "performance," we will be stressed and insecure. But if we already know what He thinks of us, then we no longer see Him as an examiner but as a supporter.

It is in intimacy with God, listening to His voice, that you will find total security. This will bring you peace and reduce tension in your relationships. Those who imitate and follow you will feel it.

Dear reader, I encourage you to find your security in what God tells you personally. I challenge you to free up time this week, to cancel some appointments or activities, to take half a day with Jesus, to worship Him, come into His arms, and listen to what He wants to tell you.

Here are some questions you could ask Him:

• Lord, how do you see me?
• Lord, what do you want to say to me about my ministry?
• Lord, what needs to change in how I serve you?
• Lord, what do you expect from me?

This could be a turning point in your life!

Let's pray together:

Holy Spirit, lead me close to the heart of God, reveal His love to me, and change my life, that my security may be grounded in God's unconditional love for me.
