Matthew 5:13 – 16
Jesus placed a great responsibility on us when he instructed us to be light to a world in which there is so much darkness. But any of us can take Jesus’ presence into dark places. When we spend time with him and cultivate a sense of his presence, he transforms us into examples of love, faith and service; our example brings glory to God. His light in us can appear in an unexpected miracle or in deeds as seemingly insignificant as a kind word or a smile. As representatives of Jesus, we are called to show those who don’t know him a better way of living based on love — one that follows the simple command to love God and love others.
