Calling on Him
Have you ever noticed what happens when a young person yells “Mom!” at a gathering with several mothers present? Heads turn, ears perk up, and almost without fail, every mother there will momentarily respond to the call, just in case it is her child calling. Even moms whose children aren’t there will temporarily forget that the child they hear could not possibly be hers.
I’ve done it, and I’m guessing you have too. We’ve turned to answer the call only to remember our kids were at Grandma’s house.
Kids call and moms answer. That’s just the way it is; and that’s the way it is with God too. He’s right there—ready, willing, and able to answer when one of his children calls to him. That is a promise that is incredibly reassuring.
Let’s Pray:
Thank you, Father, for hearing my cry. Knowing you listen, you hear, and you respond in love to me is amazing and reassuring. Let me always call to you in truth.
