Real Hope: Learning From the Book of JobНамуна
He Speaks from the Storm
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind. This one verse speaks so much about what our walk with Jesus looks like. At some point or another, we will find ourselves facing a storm of some sort. Like Job, we may find ourselves sitting amid heartache and destruction, mourning the loss of what was or what could be. But like Job, in the midst of our storm, God speaks.
God is not terrified or intimidated by the storms we face. The God who parted the seas for Moses (Exodus 14:21) and calmed the raging seas for the disciples (Mark 4:35–41) is the same God who can still calm your storm today. God’s power has not weakened. He is still as mighty and powerful as He ever was.
But what is even more beautiful is knowing that He is in the storm with us. God spoke to Job out of the storm, showing His power and majesty over the situation. He did not wait for it to pass but spoke to Job in his moment of despair. And He does the same for us. He does not leave us to battle the storms of life alone, but steps into them with us, guiding us and protecting us. He hears our cries in the valley and reaches down to let us know that He is there. He is with us and has not abandoned us.
Whatever you may be facing today, can I encourage you to remember that God is near? Whether you are in the valley or on top of the mountain, He sees you. He knows your situation; He knows your heart and is working in the background. May His voice comfort and lead you today.
