Delighting in God

DAY 1 OF 7

Delight in God's Word

God’s Word changes people.

It is by hearing the Word that salvation comes:“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ” (Romans 10:17).

God’s Word is the source of truth in a world of confusion, opinions, error, and terror:“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:17).

God uses His Word to heal the hurting:“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalm 107:20).

God’s truth brings freedom to those in bondage:“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32).

God’s Word instructs us in righteous choices and living: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Word is exciting and passionate. It is personal and speaks truth into our lives in our specific circumstances. It is relevant to us personally: "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12).

God uses His Word to point out the issues of our hearts, which are vital for change. When we consider the many facets of God’s Word and the impact it has in our lives, it’s obvious why we want to delight in and meditate on His Word. It is vital to our spiritual health, growth, and maturity. It is life and breath for a serious follower of Jesus Christ. Immerse yourself in God’s Word.
