Blessed

DAY 15 OF 15

We tend to give or hold ourselves back from giving depending on the situation we see in our lives. We have a low bank account, so we’re not going to give. Money’s tight this month until our paycheck comes, so we’re not going to give. And God is very much in support of being responsible. He calls us to be wise with what He has given us. But there’s more to this world than what we can see with our natural eyes.

When God prompts you to give, do so. He sees the entire picture—even the realm that we can’t see. You never know how one act of giving is going to ripple and bless the world, and beyond. And you don’t know what exactly is going on in the spiritual realm—but God does. Abraham and Sarah were just hanging out near their tents when three men stopped by—or so Abraham and Sarah thought. They showed the “men” hospitality, and soon their bread and meat and dinnerware were feeding angels, and from what we can tell from the passage, God Himself. (See Genesis 18.) So when God puts it on your heart to give, do so. He is up to something incredible, and it’s very possible that what He’s doing echoes far beyond what you’re able to see.

About this Plan

Blessed

Our view of blessed is often tethered to a continually changing spectrum—our circumstances. If life is good, in our view, we’re blessed. If life isn’t going well, in our view, we’re not blessed. But is our definition of blessed the same as God’s? We’ll look at how God defines “blessed.” It turns out, we’re very likely missing how “blessed” we all are—regardless of what’s going on around us.
