On My Knees
"When I think of all this..." (Ephesians 3:14), what is the 'All this' Paul is referring to?
Specifically, it's all that we now have access to and possess because of Jesus: salvation, forgiveness, purpose, hope, freedom, & fullness of life. It's only fitting to humble ourselves in worship. We kneel in reverence and awe, utterly captivated by God's immense love. Paul's discussion in this chapter revolves around the remarkable privilege we have through Jesus to confidently enter into God's presence.
Yet, In our modern church culture, there's a risk of becoming too sanitised and refined. We may stand in well-ordered formations, singing familiar worship anthems, which is beautiful. However, let's remember that the deepest revelations of God's nature and our identity often occur when we're on our knees. This posture embodies authentic worship.
Remember, there will be a day where every knee WILL bow, and every tongue WILL confess that He is Lord. True & authentic worship isn't always poised and dignified. It might involve some messiness, shunning the glossy images portrayed on social media. Perhaps the raw, face-to-the-floor kind of worship, the 'on my knees' approach, is what the Father truly desires.
The re-surrendered life.
The repentant heart.
The reverent worshipper.
As you read through Ephesians 3:12-19, why not physically kneel, if you have the ability, and make it your personal prayer today.
