21 Days of Prayer & FastingНамуна
Friends with God
I revisit 'The Purpose Driven Life' by Pastor Rick Warren every couple of years. It helps give me clarity and keeps things in my heart and mind streamlined, maintaining a focused and joyful outlook in my everyday life.
In the Old Testament, priests had to invest hours upon hours in preparation before approaching God. However, under the new covenant, prayer offers us a remarkable privilege. We can freely approach our God anytime, anywhere. This privilege is awe-inspiring.
Let me quote from Pastor Rick Warren; ‘Knowing and loving God is our greatest privilege, and being known and loved is God's greatest pleasure. God says, “If any want to boast, they should boast that they know and understand me... these are the things that please Me.“ '
Family, we never grow in any relationship by simply saying a little 'hello' to someone once a week and then walking on by. God yearns to be the epicenter of our lives, involved in every detail, conversation, and concern. He desires to encompass our whole lives.
Maintaining a constant connection through prayer and remaining mindful of His presence opens the door for Him to work in our lives. This concept of unceasing prayer involves an ongoing dialogue with God, staying attuned to His magnificence. It's an essential aspect of the miraculous journey of knowing God and being known by Him.
Today, we simply ask the Lord that we may purposefully and intentionally welcome and involve Him in every aspect of our lives like we do our friends, for He alone has the power to satisfy the deepest yearnings of our hearts.
