Seated with Christ

If you are not experiencing God’s power in your life, it isn’t because God lacks any power. If you are not experiencing God’s kingdom authority in your life, it isn’t because He lacks any kingdom authority.

God’s power and authority could be working all around you, but you would never see it when you fail to view life through a spiritual lens. The resurrection power and authority most of us sing about and talk about is only available to us when we access it.

God desires to demonstrate His power in your life. The kind of kingdom authority and power God wants us to possess comes through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ has ultimate kingdom authority because Jesus Christ is seated in a position of authority, above all rule, powers, and dominion. His throne is located in heavenly places, which is a euphemism for the spiritual realm.

And because Jesus is now seated in the spiritual realm ruling on His throne, His rule overrules everything else beneath Him. Which is, in case you didn’t know, everything.

That’s why it’s critical that the eyes of your heart be opened to the spiritual reality in which we live. You have a wealth of power available to you if you will only discover the key to using it in your own life.

When Jesus defeated Satan on the cross, He stripped Satan of any authority over you and me (Heb. 2:14). Satan can no longer defeat us. But because he knows that full well, Satan shifted strategies to try and deceive us into our own personal defeat instead.

Now, Satan must trick you to defeat you. He can’t overpower you if you are a believer in Jesus Christ. He has got to dupe you. That’s why Satan wants your spiritual eyes to be shut, deeply asleep, and oblivious to all God has in store for you. Especially oblivious to the reality that Satan is now a defeated foe underneath Jesus’s feet.

The right to use legitimate power within the context of God’s will rests in your position with Jesus Christ in the heavenly places. Guess what? Jesus is not the only one in the spiritual realm. You, if you are a follower of Jesus, are there too. I am there too. We’re here, but we are also there. We have been relocated spiritually, even though we remain physically on earth right now.

The problems take place when we are seated in the heavenly realm but choose to operate from earthly places. We fail to tap into the kingdom authority available to us simply because we choose to function from our position on earth.

If you will learn to view all of life from the perspective of where you are truly seated, which is in the heavenly places, you will begin to see all there is to be seen.
