THE EXPECTATION of an HEIR: Royal Rights & Responsibilities

DAY 1 OF 3

The Posture of Expectation

Genesis 1:3 says, "And God said let there be light: and there was light." The next verse says, "And God saw the light was good." God expected to see what He said. Since we were created in God's image, our voice contains the same creative power to say and see. Therefore, what we say must match what we believe to see. The essence of this statement is that a person's belief system plays a crucial role in creating their expectations. Believing to see God's promises fuels our expectations. Ultimately, the posture of expectation involves a trusting relationship with our Heavenly Father and proclaiming what His Word declares over our lives. Embracing His plans with great anticipation that His will is to provide all of our needs according to His riches in glory is crucial to our stance as children of God.

As God's creation, everything we need to possess the abundant life promised has been imparted to us. Our inheritance is a sealed deal. However, we're responsible for submitting our request to Father God from the position of an heir and not that of an orphan. Our prayer posture is a significant factor when declaring God's Word. Our prayer posture includes seeking His presence, listening for His voice, and responding to His voice in faith. While these things reveal our confidence in our Heavenly Father, they also send a message to the enemy that we know who and Whose we are. Therefore when we pray, we should position ourselves with an expectant hope to receive God's promises of love, peace, provision, and protection and many others. Also, understand that God is a loving Father who desires the best for His children.
