14 Promises to Pray Over Your Children

DAY 6 OF 14

The Power of Encouragement

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
I Thessalonians 5:14 NKJV

Dear Lord, I pray that my children will be helpful, hopeful, encouraging Christians. I pray that they will be quick to praise others and equally quick to share Your message of hope with the world.

This world can be a discouraging place, where so many people have lost their enthusiasm for life. I pray that my children can lift others up with kind words, good deeds, and heartfelt prayers.

You have blessed my family, Father, in so many ways. Now I ask that You use us to be a blessing to others.

Amen.

More from God's Word

Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24 ICB

So encourage each other and give each other strength, just as you are doing now.
I Thessalonians 5:11 NCV

When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you.
Ephesians 4:29 NCV

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Hebrews 12:1 NLT

About Encouragement

"Discouraged people don't need critics. They hurt enough already. What they need is encouragement. They need a refuge, a willing, caring, available someone." - Charles Swindoll

"Don't forget that a single sentence, spoken at the right moment, can change somebody's whole perspective on life. A little encouragement can go a long, long way." - Marie T. Freeman

Encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin's deception.
Hebrews 3:13 HCSB
