Personal Forgiveness

DAY 4 OF 4

Isaiah 38:17 tells us God put our sins behind His shoulder blades. Have you ever tried to see something that is behind your shoulder blades? You're not going to. God is trying to give us a very graphic illustration of how He removes the sin away from us where it can't be seen when we have repented.

We see in Isaiah 45:25 and Hebrews 10:17 that God remembers our sin no more. If I owed a debt to a store in my town that someone paid off, that business wouldn't continue to bill me. They would mark that debt paid in full. It wouldn't be remembered again because it was gone. There would be no debt to remember. That's an illustration of what Jesus did! Jesus paid our debt and all we have to do is believe the Word and receive it. God, in His infinite love, provided this kind of forgiveness for us.

God made His move with the cross, with new birth, and now it's our move to accept the gift because we no longer have to sin. But if we do, when we repent from our hearts, our sins are forgiven.

Lord, renew my mind to the Word of God to receive all that Christ made available and to believe every promise we have read about forgiveness! Even when the enemy fights to keep me from having it, I know it is mine by faith. God is on my side, and I believe His Word! The prerequisite is true repentance. Help me to be quick to repent and receive Your absolute forgiveness. Thank You for making it easy. Thank You for this fabulous gift. Amen
