Be Known

DAY 4 OF 6

To walk in our calling, we need to know what our gifts are. And not just our natural gifts, but our Spiritual gifts because they go hand in hand. When we use them in tandem, we become a mighty force against the schemes of the enemy. When the enemy comes to cause confusion and chaos, knowing our gifts helps us to pray and declare into areas in our lives where God wants to use us. When we choose to walk in those gifts it brings a new level of intimacy to our relationship with our Heavenly Father. It’s the by-product of our heart chasing after His heart.

Romans 11:29 in the AMP Bible says, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those whom He sends His call].”

Irrevocable means “not able to be changed or reversed.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 AMP says, “But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit [the spiritual illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] for the common good. To one is given through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] the message of wisdom and to another [the power to express] the word of knowledge and understanding according to the same Spirit; to another [wonder-working] faith [is given] by the same [Holy] Spirit, and to another the [extraordinary] gifts of healings by the one Spirit; and to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues. All these things [the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering] are brought about by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, distributing to each one individually just as He chooses. For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ.”

Each one of these gifts is given by the enabling of the Holy Spirit and according to the same Spirit. Not one is more important, but all work together to glorify and build God’s kingdom. Imagine if you decided to build or remodel your home and you thought that the architect could handle the whole project. In truth, you need the architect to design it, and an engineer to look at elevations and take measurements of spaces to ensure you don’t end up with your toilet in your shower by accident. Then you need a contractor and teams with specific trade experience: plumbers, drywall guys, electricians, and skilled cabinet builders. Together they work in tandem to build something beautiful.

Sometimes it is the most unique combination of natural gifts blended with our spiritual gifts that opens doors and awakens those passions inside of us.

Some of you have been so afraid to dream new dreams or walk in the calling the Lord has put on your heart. You struggle to even speak them out loud let alone share them with your Creator. Yet I know that each of you are women who chase after intimacy with your Heavenly Father. Who do you think put those dreams in your heart? He did!

Jesus wants you to trust Him enough to share them with Him. He never wants to stop being included in our dreams.

How do we use the gifts God’s given us?

1. We begin asking Him to activate those gifts within us.

2. Eliminate distractions.

3. Look for opportunities to serve.

Jesus, I ask that you begin highlighting to me how and where you want me to use my gifts. I know that you put these dreams in my heart and I want to use them to glorify you. Help me to put my trust in you and share my dreams with you. Amen.

About this Plan

Be Known

To understand what it truly means to be known by God, we must first learn to abide in His presence. It’s there, in His presence, we begin to see ourselves as Jesus sees us and find our identity in Him, so we can lean into His calling for our lives, using the gifts He's woven in us, in every season of our lives. Knowing Jesus gives us the confidence and boldness to walk fully in what He has called us to.
