God's Vast Love: Your RescueНамуна
God's Love Is Vast
Have you been contemplating the message for you from Day 1? We find that even a few lines in these messages hold so much. God’s love is vast, and his intentions for us are always good.
“Fire will come and you will not burn. Drought will come and I will pour my love into you again and again. You will not be thirsty. You will not be in want. What I give you can be trusted. It can be stood upon. It is more than enough. It is all my love, all my love. I give everything to you. Over and over and over again.”
These words are beautiful. And intense. Fires will come, and I will not burn? Doubt will come, and God will pour his love into me? I will not be thirsty? I will not lack anything? God can be trusted, and he gives me, over and over again, everything I need?
It reminds us of these verses in Isaiah:
"But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"'Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
"'When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
"'For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior'" (Isaiah 42:1-3, ESV).
So in response, we invite you to give yourself some space, some time, to meditate on Isaiah 42:1-3. Read the verse to yourself once. Notice what words and images jump out at you. What parts of the verses do you want to read again?
Read the passage a few more times, allowing yourself time to imagine—picture yourself—in the scene.
What is God saying to you through these words to you? What does he want you to know?
