Hall of Faith

DAY 6 OF 7

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deut. 31:8).

As we learned in the story of David, faith and courage coincide powerfully. Courage will sometimes precede faith, which is why we must find boldness in the midst of adversity. Scripture provides many reference points on how to live boldly and courageously. Consider Esther, a woman of faith who should inspire us to step out boldly in our faithfulness. Esther was placed in a position to save hundreds of Jewish bloodlines that were days away from execution. Many of us are familiar with the phrase, “for such a time as this,” which is found within the story of Esther. It took faith for Esther to believe the words of her cousin Mordecai when he questioned if perhaps she was made queen for such a time as this.

Have we been created for such a time as this?

We must remember that the Lord places us in specific places for specific purposes. Sometimes it takes faith to trust and believe that the Lord has intentions behind where He has placed us. At times, we may grow bitter and angry when we do not understand why the Lord has brought us into a season that seems to bear no fruit. It takes bold faith to trust that seeds are beginning to take root under the soil we are walking on. Esther teaches us that bold faith not only honors God, but brings blessings upon His people.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am trusting and believing for a spirit of boldness to rise up within me. I want to live with bold faith, walking in your perfect purpose and choosing gratitude in every season of life. Thank you for every blessing you have poured out on my life. Amen.

About this Plan

Hall of Faith

The Hall of Faith from Hebrews 11 is filled with men and women of faith who dedicated their lives to a purpose greater than what the eye can see. We find their stories of strength in the midst of storms and faith in moments of doubt throughout Scripture. Over the next seven days, we will encounter their stories and witness the powerful ways God moved through their faith.
