Your First Steps With Jesus (Begin21)

DAY 2 OF 3

Spend Time With Jesus

It's hard to have a good conversation in a crowd, a busy street, or a noisy classroom. You can’t hear what people are saying and they can’t hear you either. Most meaningful talks take place one-on-one. In a quiet place. Not a cafeteria or hallway. And some of the best conversations are quite often planned. They're intentional. They're sought after. They don’t just happen by accident. This is true for your conversations with Jesus. He is seeking to spend time with you ... and he'd like you to intentionally spend time with him.

The Christian life isn’t a religion. It’s a personal relationship with the savior of the world. The more you get to know Jesus, the more you gain. You’ll find peace. Strength. Comfort. Joy. So set daily reminders. Schedule time to spend alone with Jesus. Just the two of you in a quiet place getting to know each other. Talk to him. About everything. Honestly. And listen. You’ll learn to recognize the sound of his voice. And no. Jesus will never stand you up. He will never betray you. He will never break your heart. This is a safe relationship.

Challenge: You can be honest with Jesus. Ask God to show up as you spend time looking for him. Notice the places you see him and the times he reveals himself to you.
