Secrets of a Successful Servant of GodНамуна
True Sacrifice
When we are available to God, we must wait patiently to hear from him. We must speak up boldly for the Lord when he speaks to us. Even though Samuel was afraid to tell Eli what the Lord had said to him concerning his family, he told him the truth. God can only use a person who is obedient and tells the persons what God told them regarding their situation.
When God called Jeremiah, he replied, “O sovereign Lord, I can't speak for you! I'm too young!” The Lord replied, “Don't say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you” (Jeremiah 1:5-8). When God asked me to deliver a word to a state in India, I fearlessly shared it. I was deeply ridiculed for it, but God kept me safe.
I admire Nathan, the prophet, the man who dared to appear before King David and convict him of sin. He could have been killed, but he said what God asked him to, and David repented of his wrongdoing (which he writes of in Psalm 51). That's the work of a servant of God, admonishing the body of Christ to get right with God. God is a God who speaks and reveals himself, his character, his purpose, and his plan. Therefore, speak when God commands you to and obey him if you want to be utilized by him. I pray we will be able to sacrifice ourselves for God; amen.
