Women of Welcome: Christ-Like WelcomeНамуна
CHRIST-LIKE WELCOME: A reflection by Kristie Anyabwile
Christ-like welcome is an active pursuit of compassion toward those on the margins, whether swindlers, sinners, or outcasts. When Christ says that he has not called the righteous but sinners to repentance, he means you and me. We were sinners in need of the mercy of Christ. He called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light. He declared us righteous through our repentance toward God and faith in Christ. He has welcomed us into the family of God. He has welcomed us into his love. And he calls us to not cast aside people because of their riches or their poverty or their past, but to look for ways to share with them the forgiving grace of God so that we can join him in welcoming them into the family of God as they encounter Christ for themselves.

About this Plan
The welcome of Christ was astonishing to the culture around him. He gave voice to the speechless, frustrated the powerful, and humbled the wise. As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. Jump in with us, individually or with a small group, and let’s transform how we show welcome.
