The Beauty of God: A Six-Day Series of Reflections to Invite Wonder Намуна
Beauty in Christ
Metallic flecks dot the darkness, blanketing the night with silver. If you’ve stood beneath a starry sky away from city lights and noise, you know the sense of rightness that settles in while absorbing the beauty overhead. Like a thousand pearls spilled out and sent spinning, like cosmic confetti cannoning further and further, the scene expands, eliciting exclamations of awe and “this feels right.”
The concept of fittingness surfaces in the study of beauty —the sensation of rightness that washes over stargazers, symphony goers, and art appreciators alike. Evoked by carefully curated color palletes, the grace notes of a crescendo, or fresh peaches in the heat of summer, fittingness characterizes beauty from its smallest expressions to its most transcendent forms.
We see fittingness on full display in the incarnation of Christ. The Word takes on flesh and makes His home among a broken people; the glory, grace, and truth of a King intertwined with the humility of humankind (John 1:14; Zechariah 9:9). The climax of our creation story unfolds with the artist drawing near to His creation, the radiance of God on earth.
A rightness defines Jesus, humanity’s only fitting Savior. Fully God and fully man, Jesus alone can step into a sinful world and redeem the mess without becoming soiled by it. He alone holds the ability to pardon sin since sin offends Him. As author of creation, He alone can redeem the world He made. The beauty of Christ reflects the beauty of a perfect and right Savior.
An Invitation
Pause and consider the rightness of Christ. Which aspects of His character resonate the most with you in this season? Why? Reflect on the implications of the incarnation and a Savior, at once fully God and fully man, who draws near. Praise God for the beauty of redemption’s fitting design.

About this Plan
In the Psalms, King David expresses his desire to “behold the beauty of the Lord and meditate in His temple.” This series of reflections provides a space for readers to examine and delight in the beauty of God revealed through His attributes and actions. Divine beauty is reflected from creation to consummation. What follows is an invitation to respond with worship and wonder.
