You don’t have to work on Wall Street to know everyone wants a good investment return. While we may not always invest financially, we constantly invest our time, energy, and love. This book's author is warning the churches he oversees to be careful about where they invest their love. He knows that investing in the world’s agenda isn’t worth it and will not last, but God’s Kingdom and His agenda bring eternal, fulfilling life. When you spend all your capacity loving the world, you won’t have any room left in your life for a relationship with God and the wonderful journey He wants to take you on.
How can we learn from this warning that still applies to us today? Consistent quality time with God answers many of the questions we face in life. The more time you spend with God, the more you learn to hear His voice and cultivate that relationship. The closer we get to God, we discover that He has life and life to the fullest (John 10:10) available to us.
One could sum it up to this:
Loving the world = Hollow and temporary
Loving God = Full and forever
How will you invest your love?
Prayer Points
