Make a wish...and trust in God!

Are you the kind of person who'd like everything to be fixed right this very minute?

In His Word, God tells us to "Hope in the LORD! Be strong! Let your heart take courage! Hope in the LORD!" (Psalm 27:14, CEB)

Other translations of this verse read, "wait for the Lord." At first, the word "hope" seems so much easier because none of us really like to wait! But what does hope actually mean? According to the dictionary, to hope means "to wish for expectantly, to count on"! What are you hoping for right now?

When we hope in God first and foremost, hoping for other dreams or desires becomes so tangible, so doable! We "wish" for them; do what we can do; and then release them to God, trusting expectantly in His character and heart for us.

Have you already consciously gone to God with your great hopes? Have you already counted on Him to help and intervene?

Consider again for a moment what you're really hoping for. Now, I'd like to invite you to take a few important steps:

1. Trust God! By believing that God's timing is better than yours, it's so much easier to wait until He says "now."
2. Have faith! If you don't have faith right now, God can give you that faith as you wait for Him. "'For with God nothing will be impossible.'" (Luke 1:37, NKJV)!

If you implement these two steps, waiting will become a time of blessing! You will miss NOTHING while you wait on God.

I'd like to conclude today with a prayer for you…"Jesus, You know the hopes and desires of our hearts, and You are a good God. So I ask You today to give the trust and faith it takes to wait for his/her hopes to be fulfilled. And I ask You to make this waiting time a time of blessing. You are God, and all things are possible for You! In Your name, amen!"
