Worried? I'm Not Worried: Overcoming Worry in Your Life.Намуна
The Power of Prayer
Welcome to another day that God has given to you! Who knows what miracle may be waiting for you as God accomplishes His will both in you and through you.
My wife and I pray together every single night. A day never seems complete until we have some "Jesus Time". Our time together has changed over the years but some things remain constant. We read the Word of God together, asking God for His revelation and discernment. We ask God-specific questions and always begin with the request for spiritual protection. We only want to hear His voice! And then, we always finish with a time of worship, giving God glory for all that He is doing.
I can honestly say that when we come to Jesus, we never leave with more worry. In fact, after spending time with Him, worry is never a part of the conversation at all! That is why the Apostle Paul said:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV)
The key truth to the first part (do not be anxious about anything) is embedded in what follows (let your requests be made known to God). They find their fulfillment in the conclusion (and the peace of God...will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus).
Another way to understand this is to start with the ending in mind. If you want to experience the peace of God, you should protect your heart and mind by “throwing down” all of your worrisome requests at the feet of Jesus. When all of your requests are in their proper place, you don’t have to carry a single anxious thought with you as your worries are carried away by the God who made the promise of peace.
To know peace is to know a miracle today!
Charles Haddon Spurgeon once said, “It is one of the temptations of the Devil to tell you not to pray when you do not feel like praying. Pray twice as much then!”
Today is the today to pray twice as much as you worry. In doing that, you will find that you are not worried at all!!!
Take some time today and pray over someone else's worries or concerns. The only way to accomplish this is to ask a friend what you can pray for, and what a miraculous and gracious moment that will be.
You are a miracle!
