Christmas at the TableНамуна
The Christmas Table | His Story: Jesus
We celebrate Jesus and all he did for us at our Christmas tables with family and friends. We all have stories of what Jesus has done in our lives. For this Christmas campaign, we want to focus on our Christmas table stories, the stories of healing, the stories of freedom, the stories of walking through pain, the stories of perseverance, the stories of revelation, and all that Jesus is to us and has done through us. All because the greatest story of all time happened HIS STORY–God sent his Son Jesus to save us from sin, to redeem us, and give us eternal life.
What does Christmas mean to you? Good news for everyone. The gospels tell us that the first people that came to honour the baby Jesus were the Magi (Matthew 2) and the Shepherds (Luke 2). Two incredible moments show that the birth of Jesus changed everything from those who were wise and wealthy to those who were poor and tradies (shepherds).
It is His story that changed our lives forever. Jesus came for everyone to be saved. Not one person on earth can say no, I don’t need him. Jesus came so that we all have a seat at the table of salvation and we can all feast on the incredible blessings it is to be in Him.
The birth of Jesus brought salvation, eternal life, freedom from sin, reconciliation with God, empowerment of the Spirit, and so much more.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
We celebrate Christmas day with gratitude in our hearts for our Jesus stories. What can you share about your Jesus story at the Christmas table this year? Maybe before you begin your incredible Christmas feast, you could go around the table and share what you are each thankful for in the birth and life of Jesus that began at Christmas.
Scripture: Luke 2:1-21
Prayer Point: We celebrate you, Jesus, on Christmas Day! Father God, we are grateful that you loved us so much that you would send your Son to come and live on this earth and die so none should perish but all could have eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus, we are forever grateful for your humble birth in a manger, spirit empowered life that is our example, for your death that is our redemption and for your resurrection which is our path to eternal life. This Christmas, let our tables celebrate your majesty, the birth of the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace and let our table stories tell of your greatness and love for all of us.
